From 'Ashwathy' to 'Harshita'
Producer P V Gangadharan recently in a
function requested Ms Samyuktha Varma to remain single for another
three years so that the Malayalam film scene will not lose a
talented artist.
Biju Menon who we all know as the person
Samyuktha is in love with, was sitting next to her while the
producer made this comment. We have felt a vacuum when Manju Warrier
retired suddenly after her marriage with Dileep. Manju Warrier was
so natural and talented that one writer in his book has written that
'Manju came to films all of a sudden like a girl who walked into her
house in the evening from school.' We all missed her when she
stopped acting. Her entry was so natural. Would it be the same with
Samyuktha? We are not sure but she appears to be a numero uno artist
now.
There is hardly anybody who makes her
presence felt in Kerala. Malayalam film scene is witnessing a rush
of new faces of late. Usually the trend is that somebody finds a new
talent and others make a beeline for the artist once he or she
becomes instrumental in making the film success in box office. No
director is bold enough to cast a new face except Lohita das. But
the trend is changing. Now more and more directors are going for new
artists.
Aswathy is new artist who deserves mention in this
context. Senior artist Suhasini brought in Aswathy to Malayalam film
scene. When director Kannan was in search of a girl to portray the
young Suhasini in MT Vasudevan Nair's Theertadanam it was
suhasini who suggested Aswathy. Suhasini said Aswathy has a strong
resemblance of herself.
Her real name is Monisha. Monisha
acted in a Tamil film Indira. Every body liked Aswathy
instantly when she came to the sets. She presented a brief character
in Theerthadanam with ease and grace. Actor Jayaram and the
producer renamed Monisha as Aswathy.
Aswathy has become
popular in Malayalam film field as a fine young actress. She also
has the lead role in Phantom Paily by Biju Varkey in which
Mammootty is the main actor. She had to change her name to Harshita
in Phantom Paily because another Aswathi entered in Savitriyude
aranjanam. A plus one student in Chennai she is walking up the
way confidently in Malayalam and Tamil film scene.
Get
married in the right muhurath
