Nitya Das However good the performance is, if the first film of a young heroine bombs in box office that would be her waterloo. Luckily Nitya Das was a success in her first film Parakkum Thalika. Nitya Das got a rating in Parakkum Thalika as a good artist and it paid also. She received another role immediately in Kanmashi. She is all over the place now. From inaugurating commercial establishments to participating in stage shows of award functions. Currently she is touring the gulf countries with a group of Malayalam film artists to participate in stage shows.

Nitya Das answers a couple of questions.

It was Dileep and Harisree Asokan all through 'Parakkum thalika'. How did you feel in your first film? Did you ever think you would be elevated to this stature?

I just did not think of anything then. It was pure chance. My acting in that film was an accidental one. I had to act as a folk dancer and as daughter of a minister. It was a double role effect. The feeling was great. It is my first film. I was happy and elated. I am thankful to all. To the director and my respected senior artists Dileep and Harisree Asokan.

Were you associated with film field before?

Parakkum Thalika was my first film. But a couple of years ago I had acted in a telefilm called Kunhammaan. It was during onam Kunhamman was telecasted in Asianet. I did the daughter role in that. KPAC Lalitha was my mother in that telefilm.

How did you come to films first?

It was Manju Warrier who recommended me to Parakkum Thalika. She is like an elder sister to me. My favorite actress is Manju warrier. It was when I won a prize for miss-photogenic competition conducted by a women's magazine. While receiving the award at Trivandrum I got introduced to Manju Warrier. I couldn't talk to her then. But she remembered to mention my name to Dileepcheettan. I went to their house while I was acting in Parakkumm thalika. She herself served me a nice lunch. Just think I am her fan she is feeding me. It is wonderful. It was so hearty and she was full of warmth.

What are you doing now? I mean education.

I have completed pre degree from MES women's college in Calicut. I will have to write the examinations in between my shooting days.

Get married in the right muhurath
